Training is a critical part of becoming a top athlete in any field. In soccer, the amount of time that players spend with their teams is usually six hours a week. In order to maintain a competitive edge, players need to hone individual skills outside of their team practices. As a professional player and a coach I have seen the dramatic benefits that come from additional training combined with team practices. Supplemental training is essential to any serious player’s development.
